The Beardsley Difference:  A Science-based Approach to Restoration Landscaping.

Beardsley Gardens has partnered with renowned ecologist and land–use planner, Dr. Michael W. Klemens, to provide a unique array of services to enhance and restore ecosystem functions as part of the landscaping process.  The first step is an ecological evaluation of the project site which includes analysis of ecological functions, biodiversity, and the types of restoration and landscaping that would maximize the ecological value of the site while providing a picturesque landscape.

Following the initial assessment, we meet with the client to discuss these options and from that discussion develop a conceptual plan.  We then secure the necessary approval from local agencies, as frequently we are conducting work in regulated areas.  At that time a more formal planting plan is created. The next step is installation of the restoration/enhancement plans, as well as follow-up monitoring.

This Beardsley difference, this science-based approach has resulted in 100% approval rate from local regulatory agencies and is being studied as a model for future application procedure.
